These enamels are a mixture of silica and oxide with a sand-like consistency.
With the help of water they are applied forming uniform layers on metals such as copper, silver or gold.
When the water dries, they are

fired in a special furnace at a temperature between 800ºC and 980ºC.
Here they are smelted with the metal and a shiny finish is obtained.
In this artist work enamel is combine with steel, wood and stone.
